A farewell party was held for the Abbey Twirlettes on Saturday as members past and present officially marked the end of an era.
The baton twirling group, which had been in existence in Thetford for 30 years, disbanded earlier this year due to a change in the personal circumstances of its three main leaders.

Mandy Hill, troupe director, said the decision to close the group was the hardest the leaders had ever made and described it as a very sad time for the leaders, members and their parents.

More than 100 members attended the party in Elveden Village Hall to catch up and remember the great times had over the last three decades.

"Everybody had a great time but everyone got a bit upset," said Mrs Hill.

"I had about 40 scrapbooks of pictures that I had put together over the last 30 years spread out over a table so everybody could look back and reminisce."
