Youngsters were on target in Thetford Forest when they took part in a longbow workshop.
It was held at Oak Lodge, in Thetford Forest, last Thursday, and youngsters were shown how to create an authentic longbow and arrow before being given the opportunity to take their best aim in front of targets.

Darcy Jones, 10, from Alderton, in Suffolk, said: "This has been the most fun I have had in ages and my favourite part of the event was testing my longbow at the end.

"This has been the best day of my summer holiday and Heather is a great teacher."

Heather Francis, 29, of Wild Roots, who organised the event, said: "Absolutely everyone enjoyed themselves.

"The forest is a great place for making longbows because the children can get the opportunity to be outside and have fun using something which they have made themselves."

There are a number of events planned for the rest of the year. For more information, visit www.forestry.gov/thetfordforestpark or call 01842 810777.
