STOWMARKET Town FC's red hot form faces its biggest test when the Greens Meadow-based club travel to high-flying Saffron Walden Town tomorrow (ko 3pm).
Stow have lost one game in eight league outings – a remarkable turnaround after the club had won only five Ridgeons League Division One games before Louis Newman took charge in January.

But, their next opponents have an impressive home record, losing once at Catons Lane all season – against league-leaders Tiptree United – and are within touching distance of the three automatic promotion places.

Stow extended their unbeaten run to four games courtesy of a keenly-contested 2-2 home draw against Thetford Town on Wednesday.

The hosts broke the deadlock on 38 minutes after a flowing counter-attack. Dean Pleasance's pinpoint cross was expertly finished by Tony Cracknell for his 12th goal of the season.

Thetford rallied and drew level through the impressive Andrew Wood.

A manic final 10 minutes to the opening half was complete when Stow regained the lead following a goalkeeping blunder by Lee Hulyer.

There seemed little danger when Pleasance struck a speculative effort from distance, but the Thetford shot-stopper somehow allowed the ball to slip through his grasp and bobble over the line.

Hulyer made amends by denying strike duo Phil Dellar and Cracknell after the break, before Wood equalised for the Brecklanders to deny Stow a fourth straight victory.
