STOWMARKET TOWN FC bid to pick up their first home point under new boss Louis Newman when they entertain fellow strugglers Long Melford tomorrow (ko 3pm).
Despite winning five points on their travels since Newman took over the managerial hot seat in January, the Greens Meadow-based club have lost all three home games and conceded 10 goals in the process.
"Our home form has simply not been good enoug
h," said Newman.
"We have played some good football in spells, but the bottom line is that we have no points to show for it."
Stow's latest defeat on home soil came in a 4-0 reverse against a clinical Whitton United outfit on Saturday (match report on page 75) – a result that Newman was disappointed with.
"It would be wrong to take anything away from Whitton because they are a very good side and they taught us a lesson in finishing.
"My players gave it their all but of course the result was very disappointing."
Having recorded just four wins all season, Long Melford are second from bottom in the Ridgeons League Division One table, four places and 10 points behind Stow.
"It is a great opportunity for us to claim all three points and give the home supporters something to cheer about," said Newman.
Attacker Ricky Deasy is expected to miss the game as he is suffering from a groin strain.
