Bargain cinema tickets were in demand when they went on sale on Monday.
The Regal Theatre, in Stowmarket, is selling movie tickets for its reopening weekend for just 5p each.
Manager David Marsh said there had been a fantastic response to the offer when the box office opened on Monday: "Between 3 and 5pm we sold 1,300 tickets, smashing all records. We had a queue going down the car park and ended up selling half of what we had available in the first two hours."

As a result, an extra showing has been added to the schedule for the weekend of March 5-7 – and more could be added if demand is there.

Mr Marsh said new tills had been installed, so the ticket rush was a 'baptism of fire' for box office staff.

The theatre reopens on March 3. The box office is open daily from 3-6pm.
