Weekend round-up: Diss CC kick off season in style

Diss Cricket Club kicked off their Norfolk Cricket Alliance Premier Division campaign in perfect fashion on Saturday claiming a comfortable eight wicket victory at home against Ashmanhaugh and Barton Wanderers.

After restricting the visitors to just 110-9, Diss eased to victory in reply, losing just two wickets in an 111 total, to claim 22 points and start the campaign in winning fashion.

Elsewhere, Matt Dixon proved Diss Town’s hero as his late strike secured a share of the spoils against visitors Hadleigh United in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.

After finding themselves a goal behind and destined for defeat Dixon struck with just three minutes remaining to secure Richard Daniel’s charges a point as newly appointed Chris Tracey watched on from the dugout for the first time for the Tangerines.
