Former Eastern Centre Champion Doug Theobald showcased his talent last week as Diss MCC staged trials.
The Bury-based rider, on his Adam Raga Special Gas Gas 200, demonstrated his pedigree, finishing joint first without dropping any points during the day.
Meanwhile the only other Bury based competitor, Doug Barrell aboard his Fantic 156, also had a good ride, dropping only 11 points in sections six and 10.
Elsewhere, Ipswich MCC hosted their annual Bostock Trophy Trial at Bramford, Suffolk.
The course was set up for three laps of 12 sections for the intermediate and expert routes and four laps of 10 sections for the easier route.
Of the 60 competitors, John Daniels enjoyed an impressive first win after only a few competitive events, clearing the runner-up by nearly 10 points and closed the gap between himself and the top Inter B riders.
Kevin Plummer cleaned many of the sections on the day, and ended 27 points overall, putting him in the middle of the Inter B field, while Theobald had to retire after problems with his Adam Raga Gas Gas 200.
World Youth Champion Jack Sheppard was also riding on the day, taking a break from his international commitments and easily won the expert class, finishing on just four points overall.
