THE man who started as the Mildenhall Fen Tigers’ number seven will lead the team out as their number one against the Buxton Hitmen on Sunday.
A shuffle in the Tigers’ line-up has seen Blackbird — who has improved his average from 3.00 to 7.02 — promoted to the role.
Skipper Jack Hargreaves (6.90) returns to number five, while new signing Mark Baseby (6.93) is at number two.
Joe Jacobs’ (5.79) recent good form has earned him a place back in the main body of the team, at number four, but Aaron Baseby (5.10) will take over as reserve at number six despite some decent displays.
Cameron Heeps is at number seven on a 3.00 average, while the only man who remains in the same poisiton is Dan Halsey (5.28) at number three.
Explaining the changes, Mildenhall co-promoter Chris Louis said: “After Sunday’s win over Buxton at West Row we decided to look at the riding order again.
“We felt that Mark would benefit from riding at two while he gains match fitness, and having a strong rider off the inside gate in heat one should help Lewis too.
“Joe and Cameron piled up the points from the reserve berths and I’m sure Aaron and Cam will do the same.
“Joe’s recent form has been great and we are confident he’ll carry on his high scoring from number four.”
