Steve and Scott claim county double

STEVE Crowe won the Suffolk County Smallbore Championships, and his stepson, Scott Brown, won the Junior title at the same event, which was held over two days at the Felixstowe range.

Crowe beat some stiff competition, particularly from Jason Taylor-Balls, who has been county champion four times, and scored a magnificent 786 ex 800. The competition involved shooting 40 shots at 50 metres, plus 40 shots at 100 yards.

Crowe and Brown are both members of the Bury St Edmunds club. Crowe has been shooting for 18 years and is coached by Bert Bertoloni, the Eastern Region coach.

Brown has just started his third year of shooting and has been coached by Neil Keighley, the club captain.

Both Crowe and Brown will be shooting in the Scottish Open Championships, in July.
