In-form Bury continue their perfect start to the season

Bury confirmed their place as the nation’s official in-form team, maintaining their perfect start to the season with a comprehensive victory over Ruislip.
The visitors started strongly and opened the scoring through impressive youngster Borley crashing over out wide, before Martin added a penalty to extend the advantage.
The lead was added to further shortly after as Borley grabbed his second try of the afternoon, which was added to by a Wiggins try to take the score to 20-0.
Ruislip attempted to respond, but after an attack broke down, Matt Page, countered, latching on to his own kick to run in unopposed.
The visitors then proceeded to dominate the remainder of the half without scoring, and to rub salt in the wound, Bury scored with the last act of the half, Krammer feeding Gouldie to score. The conversion made it 34-0 at the break.
In the second half, Ruislip attacks were thwarted by a collective desire not to concede a try. Despite several good opportunities, all they could muster was a penalty from 33 metres to finally get on the score board.
However, this only rejuvenated the hosts, who following Krammer’s break, stole the lineout and engineered some space, allowing the ball to find Jo Davis, lurking on the wing, to stroll over.
It had taken Bury well into the final quarter of the match to score this try, but it had a deflating effect on a valiant visiting performance.
The introduction of Waters and Eggars to the fray immediately made an impact and they combined well with Page to see Eggars score from 15 metres.
Martin’s fine conversion from the touchline made it 46-3.
In the final moments of the match, Bury ruthlessly exploited a brave Ruislip team that were now a spent force.
Matt Page had enjoyed a rare start at scrum-half and he revelled in the open space afforded him late on.
A good forward platform allowed him the simple opportunity to scamper round the blind side for a try.
The final score for the hosts followed a series of scrums on the Ruislip line all of which seemed to halt due to technical infringements.
The inevitable penalty try seemed imminent, but the Midlands referee insisted on Bury using the ball and so a well rehearsed backs move saw Chris Snelling come in off his wing to receive the inside pass for the ninth and final try.
