Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club’s record winning streak is set to see them bask in the national spotlight.

The Haberden-based outfit have had the coveted team of the month award bestowed upon them in the forthcoming Rugby World magazine.

A whole page is dedicated to the Suffolk club in the February edition of the highly-respected title, which covers rugby all over Europe.

Chairman Mike Robinson told the Free Press: “It is recognition for what we have been doing over the last 12 months.

“It is a great honour and we are very proud.”

Gavin Hogg’s side last lost a game back on January 14th at Thurrock and have since gone on a hot streak of 27 straight victories in all competitions to storm ahead at the top of London One North.

Meanwhile, Bury, who saw their home game with Letchworth Garden City postponed on Saturday, have heard their game at Ruislip in London One North on Saturday (2.15pm) looks like it will beat the weather.

A pitch inspection will be held on Friday lunchtime with another set to take place on Saturday morning, should it be required.
