Bury St Edmunds recorded their first victory since early January when they played host to Clifton at the weekend, while there were also victories for Diss and Newmarket.
Gavin Hogg’s Bury, who had lost their previous five National League 2 South matches, overcome their Bristol-based visitors 32-20 in front of a crowd of 310 at the Greene King IPA Haberden.
The home team took a 20-10 lead into the break thanks in part to tries from Matt Eddison and Chris Lord.
Eddison stretched that advantage even further shortly after the restart, only for Clifton to respond as they reduced the arrears to just five points.
Bury had gone in front in their four most recent games and ended up losing, but on this occasion they went on to earn themselves a bonus point to move up to 11th in the table.
