MORE than 70 boys and girls took part in trials at Culford School in a bid to join the stars on the ATP World Tennis Tour finals at the O2 Arena, London, in November.

Culford Sports and Tennis Centre played host to one of 14 regional trials, where the youngsters, aged between 12 and 16, were put through a series of trials — testing their skills in agility, balance, co-ordination and teamwork.

Barclays, who sponsor the ATP finals, holds an annual nationwide search to find 30 youngsters to join the world’s top eight players and star as Barclays Ball Kids.

Among those taking part at Culford were: Brooke Adams, James Atkinson, Joe Foulger, and Robert Wallis, all from Bury; William Hall from Beyton; Flora Hill from Thurston; Tobias Squirrel from Woolpit; Hugh Stanton from Denham; Marianne Willemsen from Boxted, Bury; Patrick Styles from Stowmarket.
