Trio toasting their triple title triumph

Combat Kickboxing Academy (CKA) returned from the IKF Junior English Championships with three national title holders.

Devon Lockwod, Marley Davies and Leon Dunnett all fought their way to victory.

Ten-year-old Lockwood destroyed his final opponent inside 25 seconds, while Marley Davies, 13, made his way to the final with a 10-second win before being victorious in the showpiece over three rounds.

World champion Dunnett, 15, added the English Championship to his trophy cabinet with some impressive head and body kicks during his final.

Jay Garnham, Koi Bennington, Sebastian Edwards, Cameron Elvin and Rossi Reid also performaed well, but could not quite add to CKA’s title glory.

n CKA also had success at the National Association of Kickboxing Championships, held in Ipswich.

The academy came away with eight national titles, three silver medals, two bronze medals, two non-placed fighters and a disqualification.

Title winners were Leon Dunnett, Lloyd Dunnett, Lewis Dunnett, John Egmore, Lee Parrott, Jake Gladwish, Marley Davies and Jamie Waters. Silver medallists were Jay Garnham, Cameron Elvin and James Myers, while Bailey Petrie and Rossi Reid won bronze.

CKA opened a new class on Wednesday (7.30-9pm) at Thurston Community College for juniors and adults of all abilities.
