Parrott to play in exhibition

LEGEND John Parrott MBE, former World Snooker Champion, will be arriving in Bury St Edmunds next month for a one-off snooker exhibition.

The venue is Pot Black Sports Bar, and the evening has been organised by Andy Goodridge, the club’s manager, on Saturday, February 4.

Local snooker and sporting fans, who might normally tune into the television to watch John, have the chance to meet, talk and see him in action, and even play him.

Goodridge said: “This will be a tremendous evening for the Pot Black club following on from our last exhibition with Steve Davis, which was a very funny, interesting evening.

“I asked Steve ‘how on earth can we follow that next year, that was brilliant.’ Steve said ‘John Parrott is your man, he’s very entertaining’ and so I booked him.

“We hope to sell out, and it’s a great chance for people who haven’t been to the club since AG Leisure took over to see all the improvements made at the club.

“It’s now a great place for snooker, pool, drinking and party events in our function suite, and I hope to sell out prior to the night.”

The doors open on at 7pm, and a few lucky ticket holders will play John.

Ticket prices range from £25 to £45. To buy tickets call into Pot Black Sports Bar, Auto Park, Eastgate Street, Bury St Edmunds, www.potblacksportsbar.co.uk
