Page pockets a triple triumph after making successful trip

PERFECT PAIRING: Tim Page and Quentin Tarrantino

A trip to Scotland was topped with a Grand Prix win for Bury St Edmunds’ young showjumper Tim Page and his horse Quentin Tarrantino.

Page, 23, made the journey to Ingliston Equestrian Centre near Glasgow with three of his horses, picking up three wins and a third in hotly-contested classes.

A member of the British Equestrian Federation’s (BEF) UK Sport-funded World Class Development Programme, Page took home £3,500 in prize winnings.

His weekend began with a win on Trevor Sturman’s Wyoming in the Accumulator, followed by Quentin Tarrantino — who is also owned by Trevor Sturma — picking up third in The Team Murka and The World Class Programme Under-23 Championship qualifier class.

On the Sunday, Page gained another first, this time riding Sue Hodgson and Justin Skinner’s Steady The Helm, a promising seven-year-old gelding, in the Blue Chip Dynamic B&C class.

His winning streak continued on Quentin Tarrantino, clinching victory in the Grand Prix — the showpiece of the competition.

“It was a great show for us, and well worth the journey,” said Page.

“The horses all performed really well, none of them lowered a pole and I couldn’t have asked for more.

“Quentin and Wyoming both had breaks over the summer, which seems to have really suited them and paid off with fab results, while Steady The Helm, who hadn’t jumped a round (of show jumps) until earlier this year, is proving particularly exciting.”

Page’s next main competition will be the London
International Horse Show at Olympia in December, where Quentin Tarrantino has qualified in The Team Murka and The World Class Programme Under-23 British Championship Final.
