London 2012: Silver medal for Victoria Pendleton

VICTORIA Pendleton’s career ended with a silver medal as she lost 2-0 to great rival Anna Meares in the final of the women’s sprint.

The Beijing 2008 waved goodbye to the sport after her loss to Australian Meares.

Mildenhall Cycling Club gold member Pendleton broke down in tears as she completed a farewell lap with a gold and silver in her pocket from London 2012.

She won the keirin on Friday to pick up her second Olympic gold medal.
