Bury St Edmunds 3

Peterborough 0

Bury clawed their way into the game and began to wrest control from Peterborough.

At half time, Bury prepared to mount an assault on the Peterborough goal, sensing the win was theirs.

Lucy and Lotty Holder took control of midfield and played Andrews and Eve Holder in behind the defence.

Finally,Peterborough’s resistance was broken as Lucy Holder drove in a perfect cross for Godfrey to deflect past the keeper.

Oakes put in an heroic shift on the right and was the key to Bury’s third.

She broke forward, receiving Carter-Armitage’s fine pass before playing in Watson ahead of her on the wing, eliminating the Peterborough defender.

Watson had the presence of mind to square the ball for Lotty Holder, who drove at the circle, drawing the remaining defenders and keeper to her.

In the melee that followed, the ball popped out behind and Godfrey pounced to finish from three yards, sealing a fine win.
