Hall hosts darts open

IT WILL be a case of triples for show and doubles for dough at Moreton Hall Community Centre next month as they host an open darts competition.

Around 80 competitors will take part in Bury St Edmunds’ biggest competition of its kind, in its second year, on Saturday, May 19, as they all aim to claim a slice of the £1000 prize fund.

A round robin tournament of 16 groups of five players, will kick-off proceedings at 11.30am with the top two players from each going through to a last 32 straight knockout competition.

The winner of that competition will pick up a £500 prize fund while the runner-up will claim half that amount and the two losing semi-finalists will collect £50 each.

A youth competition for players under the age of 21 will also follow the adult group stages, planned to start around 5pm. Entry for the adult tournament will cost £10 to be paid in advance, while the youth competition will cost £3, which can be paid on the day.

For further information on the tournament, contact Colhou@ffsmail.net or visit www.burydartsopen.webs.com
