MEDAL HAUL: Stowmarket Swimming club member Dale Barker collected five gold medals and three silver medals at the South East Region Long Course Championships

STOWMARKET Swimming Club member Dale Barker travelled to Crawley, Sussex, to compete in the South East Region Long Course Championships last weekend and brought home a medal haul.

Competing in eight events in the 45-49 years age group, Barker smashed six east region records throughout the event, including the 400-metre front crawl, 100m backstroke, 400m individual medley and 100m butterfly in which he won gold as well as breaking records in the 200m and 800m front crawl in which he won silver.

Barker also swam his way to a gold medal in the 200m backstroke and also received silver in the in the 100m front crawl.
