MARSHALL HATCHICK TWO COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION SEVEN: Nowton 166-3 beat Worlington 162 by seven wickets: Nowton sealed their promotion from Division Seven with a seven-wicket win in a top of the table clash against rivals Worlington.
With Nowton captain Henry Desch electing to bowl, Worlington struggled for runs throughout their innings with Barny Bowens 44 the top score in a disappointing total of 162.
Danny Reynolds proved the visitors’ main tormentor with figures of 4-44 and was supported well by Andy Ward and Jamie Walker who both took three wickets each.
In reply, runs proved no problem for the hosts with Paul Arnold (65no) and Simon Cowell (52) impressing as they built a strong partnership and the foundations of the innings.
There were also contributions from Reynolds (13) and Walker (17no) as Nowton sealed victory and promotion.
