Stowmarket Strider runner Frank Moggan has been confirmed as safe and unhurt following yesterdays’s tragic scenes at the Boston Marathon, leaving at least three people killed and more than 100 injured.

The 63-year-old, who was out in America with wife, Sue, also a member of the club, but not competing at the time, crossed the finish line in a time of three hours 52 minutes 36 seconds, miraculously avoiding the double explosion by just 17 minutes.

Moggan’s son Neil confirmed to the Free Press last night that both his parents were ‘safe’ and currently staying in a hotel near to the scene.
