Wendy Airey, Sarah Kerins, Rob Welbourn and Derek Marsh took first place in the relay when Mildenhall Sharks hosted their Bussens and Parkins Novice Gala.

The Sharks were overall victors with 20 personal best (pb) times and 11 first-place finishes, 11 seconds and 10 thirds.

n Twelve swimmers from the club took part in the West Norfolk Open Meet and all-day event at St James’ Pool, King’s Lynn.

Jay Carter (nine years age group) took first place in the 50m freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke 
and 100m individual medley (IM.

Kane Buckles (nine) achieved second in the 50m butterfly and backstroke, while Ffion Lewis-Dimmock (12) took second in 50m backstroke and freestyle.

Megan Cowlan-Neal, Maria Buckles and Sam Buckles achieved third places in a number of their events.

Overall, from 64 swims, there were 27 pbs recorded, along with six firsts, five seconds and nine thirds.
