The Olympic pool at Stratford is the next stop for four boys from Finborough School.

The Prep 6 boys’ relay team were first in the Independent Schools Association (ISA) regional championships held at the Crown Pools in Ipswich and are now the ISA East Anglian champions.

Casper Munro-Smith, Theo Kingsbury, Carter Whalley and Thomas Crabb will now have the honour of representing East Anglia at the ISA national finals, to be held at the Olympic pool in January.

Among other notable results, Grace Long (Prep 5) was pipped at the post in her freestyle heat but came fourth overall, as did the Prep 5 girls’ relay team of Cleo Parfett, Jessica Heyns, Grace Long and Eleanor Schofield.

Munro-Smith was on good form, winning his heat in the Prep 6 boys’ breast stroke and coming second overall, and also coming third overall in the butterfly.

Connie Shaw swam exceptionally well in the Prep 6 girls’ backstroke and was just overtaken in the last few strokes, coming fourth overall.

In the final results, the Prep 6 boys were joint first with Colchester Grammar School in the entire event, and the Prep 5 girls came fourth.
