West Suffolk Wheelers held their annual Suffolk Punch Reliabilty Trial on Sunday, with more than 90 people taking part.
The cold, bitter weather did not put off the brave riders, with the event seeing the highest number of participators for several years.
Justin Wallace, event organisor, was very pleased with how the day went and was encouraged to see so many people take part.
“It was a great chance for many people to get out there and ride, it’s good practise for many cyclists,” he said.
There were three distances for the riders to pick from, as well four different speeds which the cyclists aimed to average.
West Suffolk Wheelers’ Dale Sturman was one of only three who opted for the 75-miles route, managing to average 19mph.
One of the highlights of the day was Tony Panting, the 78-year-old completing the 60-miles route at an average of 15mph.
