A record number of 800 runners took part in the Saint Edmund Pacers’ annual Tarpley 10/20-mile event from Beyton School on Sunday.

The Pacers’ Tom Hale won the Tarpley 10 race in a superb time of 56 minutes 50.42 seconds, with clubmates Tom Kingsnorth (ninth, 59.50.02) and Tom White (1.01.26.15) following for the men to finish second in the team event.

Other Pacers results: Matthew Crane (1.08.38.77), Michael Rushton (1.11.56.9), Vince Webb (1.12.00.53), Emily Gooderham (1.12.19.51), Stephen Hatten (1.13.04.17), Philip Grose (1.22.32.39), Maire O’Brien (1.23.23.89), Andrew Smith (1.26.24.76), Charlie Hopkinson (1.32.45.54), Kirsty Weavers (1.36.39.56), John Cullum (1.37.03.64) and Samantha Grose (1.45.49.97).

Odette Robson led the Saint Edmunds Women home in the Tarpley 20 an excellent time of two hours 12 minutes 24.5 seconds and was followed by colleagues Claire Hoblyn (2.34.46.22) and Sarah Golding (2.41.29.25) to win the women’s team event.
