Quartet win British gold

Lloyd Dunnett, Marley Davies, Lee Parrott and Jay Garnham, of Combat Kickboxing Academy (CKA), all won gold at the ICO British Open.

The International Combat Organisation (ICO) event, which took place in Birmingham, also saw CKA’s Cameron Elvin and Devon Lockwood both lose to the overall winners in their categories.

n CKA hosted the fully-sanctioned ICO Suffolk Combat Series recently, with 40 fights in two rings, 12 of which were national title fights over five rounds.

CKA’s 12 fighters had some fine results — eight wins, a draw and three losses.

Bailey Petrie overcame his opponent over five one-minute rounds.

n Peter Dunnett has been handed his A Class International and National Referee/Judge/Supervisor award after officiating in major events across the country as well as abroad at the World Championships, held in France, along with many courses passed with flying colours.

Lewis Dunnett and Lloyd Dunnett were awarded their B Class International Referee and Judge Certificate after many courses and competitions.

Leon Dunnett and Jamie Waters were awarded B Class International and National Judge Certificates.

n Jake Gladwish travelled to Norwich for an East Coast Fight Factory event and won his bout with just 25 seconds on the clock after catching his opponent with a straight right punch that sent him to the canvas.

n Gladwish and Lewis Dunnett are both fighting on the British Challenge Mixed Martial Arts event being held at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds on July 27.
