Podium places at Olympic Park for Wheelers

Two West Suffolk Wheelers and Triathlon Club members took to the podium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday.

Charlie Knowler (TriStar 1, ages nine to 10 years old) finished second in his category over a 600m run, 3k cycle and further 600m run in the Junior Summer Duathlon, held on a closed-road circuit around the Olympic Velodrome.

Clubmate Oscar Woodward (TriStar 2, ages 11-12) was third over his 1.2km run, 5km cycle and further 1.2km run.

n The Wheelers hosted their final Go Tri event of the year on Friday, with Eugene Husband (9.18) winning the race from Chris Brownhill (9.32) and Simon Daniel (9.46).

Over the five races run by the Wheelers this summer there have be more than 50 different people take part with the bulk of them first-timers.

n Wheelers were involved in cycling action on Saturday, with Mark Eastwood (25.31), John Coles (25.58) and Jim Greenwood (26.11) riding well at Chronos RT’s 10-mile open time trial.
