Peacock spiders, montanas, damsel nymphs and zonkers all worked well at Blackdyke Trout Fishery last week, with fish moving close in. Boats were still doing well, fishing towards the drop off line.

On Sunday, November 11, the Eyebrook Tackle Christmas sale and novelties will take place.

There are a couple of places left for the Iain Barr Day, cost £50 plus normal fishing fee. This is limited to six people, so there will be plenty of time with the two-times world champion, on Saturday, November 24.

Contact the lodge on 07525 730447 to book a place.

Larkwood enjoyed excellent fishing again last week, with a rod average of more than five.

The best bag was by Brian Keyte, with 21 fish up to 4lb.

Seven fish were caught weighing over 8lb and numerous fish in the 3-5lb bracket with more of this size ready to be stocked.

The most productive flies this week have been an orange blob fished static and marabou damsel with a fast figure of eight retrieve sub-surface.

Both West Stow and Glebe Lakes are clear, so a maximum of 5lb breaking strain nylon would be advisable.
