Pedal to the metal for time trial

SIXTY-NINE riders took part in the King’s Lynn 10-mile time trial held at Tottenhill.

Mark Eastwood and John Steed were unable to start, so David Young was the only West Suffolk Wheeler and Triathlon Club rider and he finished in a time of 27.25, taking 48th.

Simon Garrard, who was a WSW Club rider but now rides for velovelocity.co.uk, rode 25.09 and came 31st.

Winning the event was Daniel Bloy, from King’s Lynn CC in 21.10.

For the first time this season, it was dry for the Thursday evening (May 17) time trial.

Thirty-two riders took part in the Little Whelnetham time trial.

Richard Farrow was third with a time of 22.22, Dale Sturman was second with 21.51 and winning the race was Ben Mickleburgh, from velovelocity.co.uk, in 21.20.

Trisha Goulden set a new ladies’ club 50-mile record in the ECCA 50 with a time of 2:06:33.

This weekend, David Young, Mark Eastwood and Richard Balaam ride a 10-mile 3up tt in the Victoria CC, in round one of four events near Audley End House.

Ron Back is riding in the solo event.
