Olympic bronze medallist Joanne Jackson surprised swimmers when she visited the Mildenhall Sharks’ training session.
Jackson — who represented Great Britain at three Olympic Games, winning bronze in 2008 in Beijing, and holds the world record for the 400m freestyle — spoke about her past experiences and also took questions from swimmers.
n Club records were broken and personal bests tumbled as Sharks hosted the West Row Coaches Gala at Mildenhall.
Harry Wagner achieved two club records on the night, coming first in the 100m fly with a time of one minute 4.46 seconds and first in the 100m IM with a time of 1.05.48.
Overall Sharks clinched 18 personal bests to finish joint second with Mildenhall with a total of 106 points, 15 points behind winners First Stroke.
