Mildenhall’s Wallis finishes fourth in trainers championship

Mark Wallis finished in a distant fourth place in the Chelsea Glass GTA Trainers Championship at Sittingbourne on Tuesday night.

The Lakenheath greyhound handler finished on 33 points, as Kevin Hutton retained the title with 53.

Ahead of the first race, Wallis had a winner with Cisberry Geo edging out the rest of the competition in the Sittingbourne Maiden.

Wallis claimed his sole victory of the Championship in the fifth race, as Ballymac Shirley (28.73) came out on top in the GTA Bitches.

Hutton won the first three races to establish a comfortable lead, while Seamus Cahill notched the last two winners to finish the Championship in second place.

Paul Young completed the top three with 40 points.

Final standings Kevin Hutton 53, Seamus Cahill 40, Paul Young 38, Mark Wallis 33, Dean Childs 31, Hayley Keightley 29.
