Thetford’s Jack Lang sealed his first Formula Jedi
Championship with two
race wins at the famous
Silverstone circuit.

The 18-year-old driver went into the final weekend of the season trailing leader Andrew Dunn in the standings and his chances of overturning his lead took a dent when Dunn took pole for the first race.

However, Lang made a quick start to overtake the championship leader and passed the chequered flag first for his second race win of the season.

The Bury St Edmunds-born racer’s title hopes were heightened even more when Dunn finished the first race in ninth place, but all he had to do was finish no lower than fourth in the final race to see off his nearest challenger.

Lang overtook Dunn on lap two of the second race before starting to pull away from the rest of the field, creating a lead of more than five seconds.

Dunn suffered a suspected engine problem, which pulled him off the circuit on lap 12 and therefore unable to finish.

Lang held his nerve to win the race and, as a result, claim the championship in only his second Formula Jedi season.
