Beyton’s Charlie Ladell recorded his best-ever finish in the Renault UK Clio Cup as he finished fourth at Snetterton on Saturday.
The WDE Motorsport driver qualified in ninth for the first of two rounds on the Norfolk circuit before racing to fourth place.
The youngster was just one second off of a podium finish and five seconds behind race winner Josh Cook.
Ladell - who had finished eighth three times and ninth once in his previous four races in the series - moved up to 13th in the championship standings after gaining 22 points for his new personal best.
The following day the 17-year-old finished eighth in round 12 to pick up more championship points after starting again in ninth on the grid.
The series returns in two weeks at Fife’s Knockhill circuit for rounds 13 and 14 before ending with races at Rockingham and Brands Hatch.
