STOWMARKET High School student Katherine Rednall has been chosen to represent the Under-18s Mixed England Bowls team for the third year in succession – despite only being 15.
Rednall, due to sit her GCSEs this year, will represent her country in next month’s British Isles Championships in Stanley, Newcastle competing against Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the Channel Islands.
The Ipswich Bowls Club member won gold in the fours and silver in the pairs in the event last year and hopes to make it a double gold when she will again be participating in the same formats.
Rendall’s busy schedule will continue in October when she will be taking part in the Under-25 World single and mixed pairs event in Wales.
Stowmarket High School assistant headteacher Claire Ferguson said: “We are extremely proud of Katherine’s achievements.
“She has really excelled herself in the world of bowls. Representing your country in any sport is so difficult to do, and at this rate it looks as though Katherine has a long and hopefully distinguished international career ahead of her.”
