Rupert Svendsen-Cook is celebrating a double boost, having signed a full-time racing deal on top of receiving further backing from a Bury business.
The 23-year-old Bury St Edmunds racing driver’s career is going from strength to strength with the news he has recently been signed as a full-time driver for JA Motorsport and MRF Tyres in India.
It comes as Volkswagen Bury St Edmunds has announced their support is set to continue for a fifth season for the flourishing British Formula 3 driver.
Svendsen-Cook, born and brought up in Bury, could not be happier with the double boost.
“I’m ecstatic that JA Motorsport and MRF Tyres have signed me up,” he said.
“I spent a lot of last year as a test driver for them and obviously they were very happy with my development and feedback.”
Last year was an extremely busy year for the race ace but he says he will always appreciates the support he gets from Volkswagen in his home town.
“Having their support over the past four years has been invaluable to my racing career,” added Svendsen-Cook.
“I am very proud to promote the retailers name, not only in my local area, but also on an international footing.”
The Bury racing driver has already made a significant impact on the season after successfully winning four out of nine races in the Formula MRF Challenge 2013/14, including a victory at the Indian Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend.
