With lots of fish moving all around the lake, catches are steadily improving at Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishery.

Small black drys, daddies and buzzers took the most fish at the Hockwold venue this week.

Regular Carl Ward had a good day Sunday in his float tube, taking three and releasing another seven on a washing line set-up.

With the lake very clear, a good presentation is vital so not to spook the fish.

n Once again, fishing at Larkwood has picked up towards the end of the week with the fresher weather.

The fish have also moved up through the water and can now be taken just under the surface with Bloodworm or Daiwl Bach on a slow retrieve, or Cat’s Whisker stripped quickly through the water.

The best catch was by Justin Williams, with 11 rainbows to 2.5lb.

Both lakes are very clear so fishing with fine leader is recommended.

The Daddy Long Leg hatch has just started and the fishery is looking forward to large numbers, which should bring the fish up to the surface.

The Amber Hopper will then now come into its own.
