NORTH EAST

Norwich Dragons II 1

Bury St Edmunds 3

Bury St Edmunds remain top of Division Three North East following a hard-fought 3-1 success on the road at
Norwich Dragons II.

After a tense start to proceedings, Bury opened the scoring after 20 minutes as Kieran Devlin ghosted his way past the defence before firing into the bottom corner.

The home side soon doubled their lead through Ian Konrath, capping a fine move involving Steve Jackson, Nick Ciappi and Louis Totton.

The second-half proved less eventful but with Tom Rash, Eddie Gibson and Tim Stanton dominating possession, Bury added a third as Konrath doubled his tally.

Dragons reduced the deficit late on but Bury held out to continue their impressive form.

n Bury II hit the goal trail in Division Four North East to complete an 8-1 rout over basement boys Watton.

It was Watton who took the lead in the early stages but Bury responded brilliantly with goals coming from Rory Millbank (three), Paul Lawrence and Paul Whitting.

n There was less success for Bury III, who slumped to a 3-0 defeat away at league leaders Norwich Dragons IV in Division Five North East.

n In stark contrast, it proved a victorious weekend for Bury IV, who romped to a 4-1 win over Harleston Magpies VI in Division Six North East courtesy of goals from Matthew Jones, Finn Milbank (two) and Phil Rake.

n There was also success for Bury V, who cruised to a 6-0 victory over Ipswich IV in
the same division, courtesy of two goals each from Mark Dyke, Harry Gale and Nick Drake.
