Richard Blunt smashed Donnington Park’s lap record on his Portico Sport 1260cc Kawasaki bike on his way to victory in the 10-lap Wheatcroft Trophy race.

The Bury St Edmunds race ace competed at the Leicestershire circuit in the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club (CRMC) annual Classic Motorcycle Festival on August 9-11.

Blunt beat former TT and Northwest 200 winner Ian Simpson on his way to victory on the Sunday of the event and also claimed two triumphs on Saturday to earn the rider-of-the-day award.
