Klinkhammers, flies, suppender buzzers and everyone’s favourite, damsel nymphs, all took plenty of fish at Blackdyke Trout Fishery last week.
Top rod was Malcolm Foreman with 28 fish to the net and a nice brown over 7lb, which was entered into the Trout Masters competition.
A fly-casting demonstration will be held at Hockwold Country Fair this Sunday, open to all.
n Small flies for big fish was the order of the day for Larkwood anglers last week, with three double-figure fish coming to black buzzers.
The largest was a beautiful fully-finned rainbow of 13lb 4oz, taken by visiting angler Tom Bradley.
Another productive fly, with the adult hatching in numbers, has been a damsel nymph, which was particularly successful in the very clear waters of Glebe Lake.
For top-of-the-water sport, trout have been rising well late in the evening - the last hour being the best.
The fishery would like to thank everyone who provided donations for their Fishing for Heroes competition, held on June 9.
