BURY Bombers Wheelchair Basketball first team ventured south last weekend to play the Sussex Tigers from Brighton.

With the same starting five as their previous two successful games, Aiden Hughes won the tip, successfully palming the ball to Hugh Anderson, who skilfully dodged the Tigers’ defence and scored the first basket in six seconds.

Bombers had many scoring chances but only scored 40 per cent of their baskets in this quarter.

However, Tigers only made one basket and the score was 21-2 at the end of the first quarter.

After the break, shooting averages improved, with Hughes continuing his goal scoring form, for a 39-10 score line.

The poorly disciplined Tigers continued to foul the team in the third quarter and the referees awarded several free shots allowing the Bury team to increase their score to 64-13.

In the final quarter, Jack Perry added extra points from the free throw line to round off the scoring and give the Bombers a final convincing victory of 88-17.
