Emma Bartley became Moreton Hall’s second England number one in the March rankings.

At only eight years of age, she tops the England under-11s rankings, following Billy Beecroft to the top after he achieved the same feat in March 2011.

The juniors will have further representation at the inter-regionals in two weeks time in Birmingham.

Gus Beecroft, Billy’s older brother, will be representing the Eastern Region’s under-15s in Birmingham while George Stammers is being taken as reserve.

n Moreton Hall’s top squash players will be doing battle with Colchester’s best to win the first Suffolk League Individual title on April 6-7.

Colchester’s best, Lexden’s number one seed Paul Allen (former world team champion), will be expected to face Jamie Goodrich (world over-40s British Open champion), Moreton Hall’s best.

Stowmarket’s best Steve Maitland, who has had a strong season this year, will also be there at the final reckoning, while James Bird will hope to put his poor match record behind him to create an upset along the way.
