The largest crowd of the season, so far, turned out for the Essex and Suffolk Point-to-Point at Higham on Saturday

In an eventful day, every race being won by the favourite, other than the finale in which two horses set out, neither finishing, in the Hunt Members, Subscribers and Farmers race.

Charlotte Ingleton was unseated at the second fence from Stage Aclaim and although King Of Castile battled on his own, with a number of slow leaps, he finally refused, so that the race was declared void.

Andrew Pennock from Timworth, near Bury St Edmunds, alongside his new stable jockey Dickie Collinson, continued their successful season notching up a double with the very impressive Black Glen Boy taking the opening Restricted by a distance. They followed up with a win in the Novice Riders race. James Jackson-Stops made all to also win by a distance, from the Sandra Fryer trained Festival Bound.
