Larkwood held the Fishing For Heroes competition this weekend, with participants raising a magnificent total of £2400 for the charity,

This brings Larkwood’s total to this worthy cause to £6500. Of the competition, Greg Herod caught the most fish, with a bag of 18, but the winner with the heaviest bag was Stuart Macrae, who will now represent Larkwood in the finals.

The biggest fish this week was a 7lb 14oz rainbow taken by Graham Limer.

Fish are back to the surface with small natural imitations or emergers the best bet.

Eyebrook Tackle Shop will be at Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishery on Sunday with a range of the latest gear and sundries.

Small drys have been the best fly this week and with low water wellies are essential as the banks are muddy.
