The annual Bury and West Suffolk Junior Tennis Tournament will be serving up action for the 88th year next week.

Beginning on Monday, and concluding with the finals day next Saturday (August 1), youngsters aged up to 18 will be eager to become smash hits and get their hands on the many trophies up for grabs.

“Players will come from all over East Anglia, we have a high entry this year,” said chairman and event organiser Susan Glasswell.

Action from the LTA Grade Four ranking tournament will unfold at the Culford Sports and Leisure Centre.

Singles action will take place from 18 and under level all the way down to 10 and under.

There will also be a series of age-category doubles and mixed doubles competitions, an American doubles event for 10 and unders and a newly-introduced ladies’ fun doubles.

The youngest competitors will also be catered for with mini green, orange and red events - ranging in ages from eight and under up to 10 and under.

Businesses such as Glasswells, Culford School, First Choice Marquees, Wildtracks, Ensors and the Bury Free Press are sponsoring the tournament, which can boast a prize pot of approximately £800.
