Mildenhall have announced fans’ favourite Connor Coles has become a Fen Tigers’ asset in a straight swap deal with Kent that sees Aaron Baseby head in the opposite direction.
Connor is the third Coles to ride for Mildenhall, following his father Michael and grandfather, Fen Tiger legend Bob ‘The Rock’ Coles.
Connor has quickly settled into the Mildenhall area and is enjoying life as a Fen Tiger while staying with team manager Robert Henry and his family.
His recent move into the main body has seen him put in some solid performances and there is a strong feeling around the club
there is plenty more to come.
Club chairman Kevin Jolly felt this was a good move for both club.
He said: “We are very pleased to have sorted this out without any difficulties and thank Len Silver and Roger Cearns for their help in making this move a reality.
“We have been most impressed with Connor since his arrival at West Row, he wants to improve, listens to the advice his is given and is clearly enjoying life and his speedway here in Suffolk.
“I feel he has a great deal of potential and we haven’t seen the best of him just yet.
“We are working with him to improve his riding skills and with his determination and will to succeed we have a promising rider on our hands for sure.”
He added: “I would like to go on record on behalf of the whole promotion in thanking Aaron for his efforts for the club and hopefully a move closer to home will suit him well.”
