Garboldisham will be aiming to build on the momentum of a championship winning season last year as they look to make a mark in Norfolk Alliance Division One.

Garboldisham enjoyed a magnificent season last year winning nine of their 16 games, drawing six and losing just once throughout the campaign to cruise to the Division Two title 13 points ahead of runners-up Great Melton.

Danny Cash will once again lead the side as they commence the new season by hitting the road in a trip to Horsford A on Saturday, May 3.

Their opening opposition could offer the club a good opportunity to hit the ground running having narrowly avoided relegation last time out, finishing third from bottom having won just six of their 18 encounters as Garbolisham will be given a good benchmark as to where they stand for the season ahead.

That Bank Holiday weekend will also see Thetford commence their Division Three campaign as they also hit the road to face Old Buckenham A.

Thetford will be hoping to at least match last season’s finish when they claimed third place.

Division Four will start over staggered weekends this season, starting with Mundford’s trip to Great Malton A on May 3.

Mundford will be hoping for a better season than the last which saw them finish just two places off the bottom.

The following week
will then see Garboldisham A head to Hales and Loddon.

In contrast, one side who will enjoy having home advantage on the opening weekend is Thetford A who welcome Bradfield A for their Division Six encounter.

Ahead of those ties, the Mid-Norfolk Sunday League season commences with a host of games starting on April 27.

In Boyle League Division One Thetford travel to Mattishall, while in Haverson Division Three Mundford will be the visiting team at Swaffham.

The start of May will also be the beginning of the Suffolk Cricket Alliance where in Section C Needham Market head to Rumburgh on the fourth.
