Football: Needham keep Wembley dreams alive

St Ives Town 3, Needham Market 3 aet

Needham Market kept their Wembley dreams alive by coming from behind on three occasions on Saturday.

Equalising goals from Jay Denniss, Ben Wake and Danny Thrower meant this gripping cup tie could not produce a winner.

Goalkeeper Liam Jones obtained hero status when, in the last minute of extra time, the shot-stopper pulled off a sensational one handed save to deny St Ives a place in the quarter-finals of the national competition.

After the game Mark Williams took time out to speak to manager Danny Laws about the match, the crucial save by keeper Liam Jones and the impending re-match back at Needham next weekend.
