Weekend round-up: Rugby side stretch winning run to 23, while Blues beat Wingate
Gavin Hogg
Jono Farmer marked his return from injury with two tries as Bury rugby coach Gavin Hogg (pictured) saw his side rack up their 23rd consecutive victory.
Bury were not at their best, but still beat Beaconsfield 55-20, having led just 19-13 at the break.
Meanwhile, Bury Town roared back into the Ryman Premier play-off places thanks to a John Sands brace and single strikes from Mark Coulson and Sam Reed in their 4-2 success over Wingate and Finchley.
They travel to Wealdstone tonight (7.45pm), subject to a 1pm pitch inspection.
Both Norwich City and Ipswich Town scored 1-1 draws on Saturday, but will be in entirely different moods.
Ipswich remained entrenched in the npower Championship relegation zone after drawing with Peterborough United, one of their rivals for the drop.
Norwich earned a point at high-flying Everton in the Barclays Premier League.
