Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club suffered their third consecutive loss in SSE National Three London and South East when crashing to a late defeat at home to Westcombe Park on Saturday.
Casey Stone, pictured, scored Bury’s only try in the early stages of the match and they led all the way until the final 10 minutes when Park crossed the whitewash themselves and converted to snatch victory.
In London Two North East, Stowmarket lost 22-18 at home to Chelmsford, while Mildenhall and Red Lodge Eagles went down 16-11 at home to Norwich Union in Greene King IPA Eastern Counties Division Two.
Thurston were 28-27 victors at Mistley, while Thetford were awarded a walkover against Felixstowe.
The wet weather hit part of the football programme with Bury Town’s trip to Billericay Town in the Ryman League Premier Division and Team Bury’s home game with Downham Town in the Thurlow Nunn League First Division both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
